BLU3, a proud partner of 1% for the Planet, will be attending Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from April 8-10 for the first year ever.

About Tortuga Music Festival

Rock The Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival started to generate widespread ocean conservation awareness. Rock The Ocean is a non-profit organization focusing on these 5 core values:

  • Turtle conservation
  • Shark conservation
  • Coral reef degradation
  • Overfishing
  • Marine pollution

A portion of the proceeds from the festival go to the Rock the Ocean Foundation. With the support of Tortuga’s loyal fans, they’ve raised over $2,000,000!

Over the years, these proceeds have benefitted university research, and ocean conservation in the Bahamas, Asia and all over the United States.

How Tortuga Rocks the Ocean

Tortuga Music festival goes beyond just supporting ocean conservation. Tortuga has dedicated its efforts to creating an eco and ocean-friendly event for all to enjoy. Tortuga has made a difference by:

  • Reducing single-use plastics
  • Supporting sustainable food systems
  • Providing ocean conservation education
  • Preserving & protecting local marine habitats

Tortuga Music Festival is sold out and is expected to have crowds of 20,00 to 25,000 each day. Concertgoers from around the country come to enjoy the South Florida sunshine, beach and the awesome headliners who align with Rock The Ocean’s mission.

“We are so excited to be a part of yet another marine conservation initiative. Participating in events like this help us echo our passion for ocean conservation while helping us reach environmental sustainability,” Blake Carmichael, CEO of BLU3.

During Tortuga, BLU3 is giving away two free guided tours in Lauderdale-by-the-sea. Winners will have the option to choose either a snorkeling excursion or a BLU3 guided tour using Nemo, a battery-powered tankless diving system that allows you to breathe underwater at 10 feet.

BLU3’s guided tour program in Lauderdale-by-the-sea – near headquarters where they manufacture and assemble Nemo and Nomad – will be the first of many guided tour locations in the world!
