Adventure with LIVE Watersports and BLU3

The blazing Florida sun, the alluring call of the river, a pack of spirited girlfriends and a chance to get away in nature. You can see it now…like a picturesque scene plucked from the movie screen.

After a particularly stressful week at work, Jenna, a coastal engineer, got together with her group of girlfriends and decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a weekend away. With work, family obligations & busy schedules, the girls hadn’t had a trip together in way too long, so it was time to round the troops and do what they do best…go on an adventure.

The destination? An idyllic river where they could make meaningful core memories together and get in some good old-fashioned R&R. Swapping skyline views for starlit skies & crystal blue waters was the perfect scene for an unforgettable weekend. Armed with their LIVE Watersports paddle boards and portable BLU3 dive systems, an aquatic adventure awaited just around the bend.

While they began down the river with their board–transporting them blissfully to their desired dive destination–and their BLU3 dive system ready to go, the girls could anticipate the excitement that was to come. But it wasn’t until they dove from their paddle boards when they truly felt the epitome of peak euphoria. The ease of diving without tanks on your back for the first time was a sense of freedom they had never experienced before. And they wanted more!

Aside from the simplicity & portability of diving with BLU3, the LIVE paddle boards provided stability & a generous amount of space for other items needed on the river. They proved to be the perfect platform for their river escapades. “The ability to use the boards while also diving without having to worry about your tanks or heavy BCDs was just perfect,” Jenna shares enthusiastically. Not only did the paddle boards serve as their diving platforms, but they also transformed into floating picnic spots, carrying delectable charcuterie as the girls leisurely drifted down the river.

Jenna explained how the BLU3 dive system would revolutionize her work conducting seagrass surveys. “We go into about 10 to 15 ft of water and dive down to get pictures of certain seagrasses. The BLU3 systems would be ideal for our situation.”

When asked about the difference between their usual ocean surveys and this freshwater adventure, Jenna responded, “Using the boards in the river is a lot different than obviously the ocean, but you still have that full stability.” The boards were tied to rocks while the girls dove or simply relaxed and engaged in girl talk, underscoring the versatility of these sturdy boards.

One of the biggest highlights? “Being able to just jump off the board and go diving while someone is on the board is perfect. Then we actually used the boards to have charcuterie and just float down the river with the girls,” Jenna laughs. The video captured by Locale Films shows them enjoying these moments - girls jumping off the boards, putting on their gear and fins, and capturing memories that would last a lifetime.

This transformative experience which combines the tranquility of nature, thrill of diving & the freedom of paddleboarding/no tanks, gave the girls a chance to experience the FL Springs from many lenses. Whether they were above/on water, or below water, they could appreciate the beauty and versatility at every turn and arguably from every angle. And there truly is no better way to escape the real world & take in what’s around you.

While the weekend was full of long laughs shared over smores & catching up on old times, the memory that stood out the most was their paddle board dive day with BLU3.
